Why Using Conveyor Ovens Is Worth the Price

In the simplest terms, conveyor ovens are a type of industrial oven that works with products moving through it. They can use either an indexing or continuous motion, utilizing either vertical or horizontal, or inclined or spiral motion pathways. They also come in various styles, including belted, powered roller, overhead, and chained. In contrast, batch ovens allow a product to be placed only in a stationary position prior to thermal processing. Depending on how the heating equipment is being used, the products may be placed consistently and uniformly inside the oven’s heating chamber. Or most often, the products can also be placed randomly.

As conveyor ovens include motion by moving the product from one place to another, they tend to be a more expensive solution than batch ovens. However, there is a multitude of reasons to consider utilizing a conveyor oven. First, it provides high production volumes. So, if your processing requires a high volume of products to be processed, then a conveyor oven is a better option. Using a batch oven for high production volume for a certain amount of time will leave you short of time to load, heat up, cool down, and unload the products.

Moreover, conveyor ovens can also be easily integrated into your production line while reducing or preventing human errors with equipment operation. This results in more consistent product placement with fewer or minimized defects. Finally, a conveyor oven can also be fitted with a variable speed drive or variable frequency drive that can adjust the speed of your conveyor. This provides you with process flexibility that is very beneficial in altering the residence time of products in a certain heated zone. This also enables you to change the oven temperature along with other parameters such as air velocity.

So, ultimately, with a conveyor oven system, your products can be moved conveniently and efficiently, making your entire process flow running smoothly. You then get a huge amount of savings and revenues from avoided downtime and reduced energy consumption.
