First, and perhaps the most vital of all band saw parts, is the blade. It consists of smaller teeth that are designed in a continuous loop, creating its jagged edge. The motor is another major part of a band saw which determines how much power the machine has. However, portable or handheld band saws don’t have a motor. And though a big-sized motor means more power, you may find it difficult to work with.
Another important part of the band saw is the table where you put the material to be cut. While most band saws may come with tables, you can make your own customized table to suit your workspace and give you the chance to have different cutting capabilities by switching from a vertical to a horizontal type and vice versa. Lastly, guides are one of the most important band saw parts that ensure the accuracy of the cut by stabilizing the blade. Usually, every band saw has two guides, with three components: thrust bearing and one block on each side of the blade.
