While vibration has an important role in making us hear, it is quite the opposite when it comes to engineering and creating various machines. It causes major mechanical issues and produces annoying sounds. Apart from the noise, excessive vibration can also cause a machine to stop working and break down. Basically, certain items or parts are resonant with certain frequencies, or that back-and-forth movement that creates sound. The most commonly used substance is the Sorbothane that offers the amazing properties of liquid and solid. This type of substance absorbs the energy produced by the vibration and turns it into heat energy that can be stored until the pressure is over.



One aspect we have to know about energy is that it can’t be lost totally but transferred only from one form to another and this is where a vibration dampener simply dampens it. It is even more amazing that there are some substances that can help address resonant frequencies, absorbing the energy. This ultimately reduces the frequency and thus, the wear and tear it can cause to any electronic or mechanical part.
