The history of art is so rich that it is quite challenging to know which stories are true and which ones are myths. Some of the stories are somehow questionable but that is because many still believe in false accusations and accounts that pertain to famous artists. As Documented, there is Only One Painting Sold by Vincent van Gogh
Popularly known as the greatest post-impressionist, van Gogh was known to sell one of his amazing masterpieces – "The Red Vineyard at Arles.” He sold this painting because he committed suicide back in the 1890s. He sold the said painting also to a painter named Anna Boch which was authenticated. However, scholars believe that this is not the only painting that van Gogh had sold when he was alive as evidenced in his letters. These alleged paintings were sold to his relatives prior to selling his famous artwork to Boch. This issue is perhaps tackled in a Toronto art school or totally skipped.
Pablo Picasso Had Allegedly Stolen Mona Lisa
This is, of course, purely an accusation. It was based on the fact that Pablo Picasso and his friend were found guilty with the possession of Iberian sculptures that were stolen from the same museum, Louvre, where the famous or infamous painting of da Vinci, Mona Lisa, was kept. Unfortunately, it was the same time when the painting was lost and so Pablo and his friend were accused to be one of the thieves. But
due to lack of evidence, they were released. The truth is that someone else had stolen Mona Lisa
painting in an attempt to bring it back to Italy.
Procrastinating Is One of Da Vinci's Traits
The contribution of Leonardo Da Vinci to art is unquestionable as every Toronto art school would purport. He is an art genius but just like you and me, he is also a person with some undesirable traits. He was deemed to be a procrastinator who got distracted so easily. It was through him where the Renaissance was attributed but it is quite interesting to note that he did possess an undesirable trait of leaving his work undone. This procrastinating was confirmed through plenty of unfinished sketches and artworks he left behind after he died. His most famous masterpiece, Mona Lisa, took 14 long years for him to finish.
